Alaska Airlines $50 off & double miles!

Published on 05/01/2014 by Justin

Beginning in mid-June, Alaska Airlines will be rapidly expanding their SLC operations with non-stop service to many cities in the Western United States. In order to steal away some Delta loyalists, they are running a promotion granting Utah residents a $50 off voucher when you register for Alaska’s extremely valuable frequent flyer program, Mileage Plan.

How to claim your $50 voucher

All you need to do is click here and click the “JOIN NOW - GET $50” button. This offer expires July 31, 2014, so go ahead and do it now before you forget! Within 48 hours, you should receive an email with your $50 off voucher. Your flight must be booked by August 30, 2014 and is good for flights booked on Alaska between March 12, 2014 and November 19, 2014.

Register for double miles

Once that’s done, go ahead and register here to earn double miles in your new account on all Alaska flights to and from SLC between June 9, 2014 and August 1, 2014.

Why join Alaska’s Mileage Plan instead of Delta SkyMiles?

In my opinion, the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program is the best frequent flyer program for those of us in Utah. It allows you to accumulate and spend miles on all Delta flights, most American flights, and numerous international partners in addition to all Alaska flights. If you’ve ever tried redeeming your Delta SkyMiles for a flight, you know how frustrating that can be! Since Alaska allows redemptions on American, you can earn miles on all those Delta flights you inevitably take out of SLC, and spend them on American, which has much better award availability. Don’t take my word for it - do an award search on both and and see what the difference is!
