Fly 2, get 1 almost free on Alaska

Alaska Airlines is running a promotion for Utah residents where if you fly two round-trip flights between Salt Lake City and any of their non-stop destinations (Boise, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, or San Diego), you get a voucher for a flight to anywhere they fly and pay only the taxes.

Both round-trips need to be completed before January 31st, and you must credit the flights to your Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account. Register for the promotion here before your first round-trip to be eligible for the offer.

The offer page doesn’t specify a destination for the free flight, so it’s possible it can be used to get all the way to Hawaii or Mexico. It does say it’s valid anywhere Alaska flies. Unfortunately I can’t confirm that yet - I have 1 more flight to make before I earn the free one. The free flight can be taken any time between January 6, 2015 and December 16, 2015, and must be reserved before February 28, 2015. Flights must be available in W class, which essentially means they must be available for an award reservation. You can search for these flights on their website by checking the “Use Miles” option.

Happy travels!
